How to attach a balcony box bracket - Installation instructions for the windowsill
Leisure gardeners had to wait a long time for storm-proof window box holders for the windowsill. Resourceful designers have tackled this problem. The result is a bracket that you can attach without drilling. How it works, explains these instructions for the installation using the example of the Vario-fix window box holder for window sills.

The tooling requirements for assembly are limited to an open-end wrench size 10.
Important requirements
Attach the balcony box bracket only if the sill is firmly connected to the masonry or window. An overhang of 30 to 70 mm to the facade is also one of the prerequisites. Furthermore, a 5 mm deep water drip groove is required.
Instructions for the assembly
A flower box holder is always mounted in pairs. The following instructions explain step by step how to assemble and attach a bracket. How to do it right:
After this preliminary work, go to the windowsill. Here you put the clamp on the windowsill. Push the clamp up the slot of the holder up into the water drain groove. Then tighten the locking screw with the jaw wrench SW 10. Now turn the PVC hex screw against the wall of the house until a support between the bracket and the wall is ensured. The screw must not be bent under any circumstances. For a strength test, please shake it.
The size of the flower box defines the distance between the two brackets to each other. This is about 10 cm from the outer edge to the middle.
If it is a window sill made of aluminum or sheet metal, the installation is similar. The only difference is a 180-degree turn of the clamp to thread it behind the front leg of your windowsill. Then push the clamping plate up to the stop and tighten the locking screw.
Tips
To install a flower box on balcony railing, the retailer offers ready-mounted brackets. Here, the assembly is limited to the screw connection and adjustment by means of thumbscrews. High-quality products offer window boxes with plants and substrate with a weight of up to 50 kilograms.
