So you multiply room ivy!
Just as easy as ivy outdoors, you can also multiply carpentry. You do not need much previous knowledge for that. There must be only one plant from which to cut cuttings, or whose shoots you can bend down far enough.
Increase room ivy - That's how it works
For the propagation of carpentry you can use two different methods: cuttings and sinkers.
Both methods work fine.
You can grow carpentry all year round, even in winter. However, it is often very dark in the room, so that the young plants do not grow so well. The best time of spring is suitable for reproduction.
Pull carpentry out of cuttings
Cut shoots that are already slightly wooded below. It does not need to have any anchoring roots, as these are only needed for climbing.
Place the water glass or pots with the cuttings in a bright, warm place. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not keep the soil too moist.
If the new roots of the ivy are about three centimeters long, you can plant the cuttings in their own pots. You do not have to transplant shoots grown in potting soil until you have new leaves.
Increase ivy in the room above the sinker
Zimmerefeu can also be increased by lowering. For this you need the mother plant and one or more small pots that you fill with potting soil.
Bend down a young shoot so that it lies on the ground of the second pot. Slightly score it at this point. Pile earth over the scratched area and use a stone to squeeze the settler. The tip of the shoot must look out of the earth.
Keep the pot moist but not too wet. As soon as there are leafy apices at the top of the dropper, separate the offshoot from the mother plant and maintain it as normal.
Tips
Ivy from the field is not suitable for propagation as Zimmerefeu. Normal ivy thrives in the room only very bad. Therefore only use plants which are suitable for the care in the room.
