Grow your own apple tree in your own garden
Normally, fruit trees for the garden with an age of about five to six years are purchased from specialist retailers and then bear fruit after a few years. With a lot of patience, this guide and a little bit of experimentation, you can also grow apple trees yourself.
The difference between seedlings and vegetative propagation
In commercial horticulture, apple trees are typically produced by grafting the branches of a particular apple variety by copulating on a vigorous underlay with well-formed roots. This method of propagation is also called vegetative propagation, since the offshoot and sometimes also the substratum are asexually propagated plants of cut branches. While vegetatively propagated apple trees bear the same fruits as the mother tree, seedlings can be turned back into wild form.

If you want to wait for the long wait while growing the seedlings, then you can draw as an exciting experiment in the garden even from ordinary apple cores an apple tree. However, there are some things to keep in mind so that the seeds can become small trees and later survive in the local climate.

In the supermarkets, some varieties are offered in this country, which are not necessarily well suited for cultivation on site. While apple varieties such as "Granny Smith" may not survive a severe winter in Central Europe, locally grown apple kernels may be more promising. Prepare the seeds for germination
Apple kernels usually contain germ-inhibiting substances, which are degraded only by the course of fermentation processes. If you have access to the pressed remains of apples from the must production, you will achieve a better germination with these than with directly from apples won cores. Unless you leave the cores outside in a pot outside during the winter, you must stratify them before germination. To do this, place the cores in moist containers of kitchen paper in a container for a period of two to four weeks in the refrigerator. Only through this simulated winter, the cores will drive out satisfactorily.
Tips & Tricks
Apple-grown apple trees follow their genetic predisposition and therefore usually become very large. If you want a small apple tree, you must educate it by refinement to a smaller parent form.
