Pull an apple tree from seeds yourself
It saves time until the first harvest, when reclaimed apple trees are used when planting or redesigning a garden. With a few years of patience, you can also grow beautiful plants from seeds.

Seeds for growing an apple seedling are usually not offered in garden centers or by mail order. This is partly due to the fact that only a few hobby gardeners have the patience for the experiment of an apple tree sowing. On the other hand, the kernels of the apple tree are usually easy to use as they are found in the core of an apple.
Outsmart the natural germ barrier of the apple core
Apple kernels are in the year of their maturation on the tree provided with natural germ inhibitors, which decompose only over the winter. In nature, this ensures that pits do not drift out in the new growing season and do not freeze in the late autumn. If you want to grow an apple tree yourself from a nucleus, then you have to bypass this natural germ barrier in the collected nuclei. To do this, place the cleaned apple kernels between moist layers of kitchen paper in a container to stratify in the refrigerator for at least two weeks. Afterwards, you can plant the then mostly easily expelled seeds in a pot with loose soil.
Keep your eyes open at the core selection
In principle, the seeds from the core casings of apples bought in the supermarket can also be used for cultivation in the garden. Keep in mind, however, that many apple varieties sold in the store may not really be adapted to the climatic conditions and soil conditions in your area. Tips & Tricks
It should be appreciated that the seeds of an apple tree usually do not grow into an identical descendant of this tree. Since apple trees are self-sterile, half of them always contain the genetic material of an apple tree from the surrounding area.
