Especially when the ant-state has made itself comfortable in the flower pot in a very limited space, this works with patience outstanding.

Carefully pour the powder into the holes from which many ants are crawling out and push down with a dipper stick. The intense smell of your favorite morning drink scares off the pets and they are looking for a new place to stay.
Plenty of water
Floods do not like ants. If the plant tolerates it, you should pour it pervasively for several consecutive days so that water collects in the saucer. You will see, the animals will soon be too colorful and they will migrate.
Lime or garden chalk
If you have ant nests in the garden, you should prevent the spreading of chalk powder or garden lime around the flower pots. The little crawlers do not cross these alkaline barriers and prefer to choose other places to start a new state.
Not a good remedy: baking soda
A common tip for ant infestation is: Sprinkle baking soda on the ground in the flower pot. The remedy does not work very well and at the same time means a painful death for the animals. Contrary to popular belief, ants do not eat the baking soda, but die of chemical burns on contact with this substance. Therefore, resort to gentle methods that also work but at the same time protect the insects.
Tips
Rapid-acting insecticides for the soil should already be used as environmental aspects only if all other means fail. Ants are beneficials that carry seeds, loosen seeds, and feed many other animals. This makes them an important, worth protecting link in the ecosystem.
