The aloe vera plants are easily propagated through the natural lateral sprouts, which produce the mother plant at its specific age on her trunk. Even from a trimmed leaf, you can pull new aloes without much effort.

Although aloe vera can be propagated by seed, propagation by offshoots is preferred. Seed growth, which can be purchased or harvested, takes longer than propagation by offshoots that each mother plant can produce from the age of about three years. All you have to do is cut off the resulting shoots, allow the interfaces to dry and replant the seedlings into their own container.
Propagation by seeds
The seeds are available in the garden centers or by mail order. Sowing can be done all year round. Because of the better light conditions, however, it is advisable to sow the seeds in spring. As light germs they need a really bright spot to germinate. As substrate, a sand-earth mixture or cultivation soil is suitable. Sowing should be kept moderately moist, waterlogging and direct sunlight should be avoided.
Propagation by natural offshoots
The easiest way is the multiplication by side shoots. But you have to wait until your aloe vera plant expands on the trunk. Carefully separate the seedling and place it in a container filled with moistened succulents. Before that you should let the cut surface dry for a few days in the air.
Propagation by cuttings
From the leaves of the aloe plant can easily win cuttings. To do this, proceed as follows:
Care of young plants
Until the cuttings have fully developed their root system, they do not tolerate too much light. To avoid the fungus formation, the young plants should not be poured from above. The small plants can initially store only a little water, so sparing watering is advised, just enough so that the earth does not dry out completely. The waterlogging causes more damage to the succulents than the temporary dryness.
