Feed the zucchini
As a starvation cook, the zucchini not only needs water but also enough nutrients to grow. These can be supplied by adding compost, organic or mineral fertilizer. From an ecological point of view, it makes sense to prefer organic fertilizers to minerals.
Of course, fertilizing with compost
The nutrient supply of the zucchini begins with the preparation of the garden bed. Compost contains all the necessary nutrients and thus the soil is already sufficiently enriched with nutrients by mixing in compost. It is beneficial to plant the zucchini right next to the compost. The nutrients are then practically flushed from the compost heap directly into the zucchini bed.
Organic fertilizer
In order to ensure an adequate supply of nitrogen, the soil can additionally be enriched with horn shavings or horn meal. This is done either before planting or during the growing season.
