So multiply the room calla
Flower lovers can hardly get enough of the elegant room calla. Luckily, the potted plants can easily be multiplied. However, you have to be patient if you want to move your calla yourself. You have to wait a while for the first flowering.

There are two ways to multiply the calla: by seed and by division of the tubers.
It is much easier to multiply calla by tuber division than by seed. Sown Calla flowers almost never in the first few years, while from the split onions plants with many flowers develop next year.
Pull calla from seed
Divide flower bulb when repotting
The best time to divide the bulbs is spring. In principle, you can always divide the tuber, if you transplant the potted plant anyway. Gardeners advise that Calla should be repotted every spring, even if it still fits well in the old pot.
If you lift the plant along with the tuber out of the pot, you will most likely find small offshoot tubers on the main onion. These can be used for propagation.
Use a clean, sharp knife and cut off the offshoots with a smooth cut. If there are no daughter tubers, you can split extra large onions in half.
Plant split calla tubers
Place the tuber halves in sufficiently large pots of fresh soil and cover them. Place the pots in a bright, warm place and keep them well moist.
Normally, the first green leaves appear after a few weeks.
Flowers usually do not form in the same year. The tuber needs to regain enough strength during the break.
Tips & Tricks
Never use old soil when repotting Calla or using split flower bulbs for propagation. Frequently used earth is contaminated with spores and bacteria, which make the room calla lazy.
