Although many ornamental grasses are considered hardy, there are circumstances that make a hibernation make sense. What are these and how does the wintering work?

Ornamental grasses can stay outside over the winter. But outside they should be protected if:
Wintering for grasses
An ornamental grass in the field can be covered with brushwood, a mulch layer of bark or compost, fleece or leaves in the root area. Larger copies should also be tied together. Ornamental grasses in the bucket are cut down, wrapped with a warming material in the planter area and placed on a wooden block or Styrofoam block.
Tips
Make sure that you remove the winter protection early in March. Otherwise, the new drive suffers!
