Only rarely repot Zamioculcas
Zamioculcas zamiifolia - also known in this country as a lucky feather - is a house plant up to a meter high and quite wide in the width. It inspires with strong, fleshy shoots and thick, dark green and shiny leaves, which are arranged like a bird's feather on the shoot. The very pretty plants have only been available on the German market since the late 1990s, but are now enjoying great popularity as a houseplant. No wonder, because the distinctive plant is also considered extremely robust and frugal.

This includes, for example, that Zamioculcas must be replanted very rarely, because the plant prefers rather cramped conditions in the planter. For this reason, it will only be time to relocate when the rhizomes begin to outgrow the edge of the pot. Even if the shoots have no more space to grow out and therefore protrude beyond the pot edge, you should give the "Zamie" a new pot. Repotting is best done at the beginning of the growing season in March or April, but even in summer, this measure is easily feasible.
Repotting Zamioculcas - That's how it's done
Implementing the Lucky Feather is easy, provided you follow these guidelines:
Although the plant originating from East Africa also feels very well in palm or compost soil, it can also be cultivated in expanded clay or another substrate suitable for hydroponic cultivation. This form of plant culture reduces the already low maintenance effort again considerably.
Select the pase pot size
Do not choose the next pot size too big, because the Zamioculcas thrive best in a small cramped planter. Only one to a maximum of two numbers larger than the old pot are completely sufficient. However, if you want to share the Lucky Feathers, of course, choose a smaller pot accordingly.
Tips
Zamioculcas should not be cut. If the plant becomes too big, simply divide it the next time.
