The yucca palm is extremely rarely attacked by mildew
Mildew on Yucca is very rare
Although the Yucca or Palmlilie applies - which, by the way, is not a palm tree, but an agave species! - as quite robust, but like any other living thing, she too can get sick. Among the most common pathogens in houseplant mushrooms include, with the powdery mildew rarely appears on the Yucca. However, a very similar appearance is caused by a very specific pest.
Mildew or gall mites?
If your yucca actually gets mildew, the topping can usually be removed quickly with a clean cloth and some milk water.A mixture of whole milk and water helps against the powdery mildew, but you should only use fresh milk - the bacteria contained therein reliably kill the Mehltausporen. In severe cases, however, only the scissors help in many cases, because these parts of plants should be removed immediately and disposed of. But beware: A white, wipeable coating does not always indicate mildew - even gall mites can be behind it. The gall mites found on yucca plants do not form bile, but sit directly on the leaves.
