How deep should you set the root barrier?
The root barrier must be set low. The long, thin rhizomes proceed depending on the ground to depths of 80 cm (rarely the case). Therefore, set the root barrier at least 50 cm deep! Ideally, you should stick to the surface about 3 cm from the root barrier.
What is suitable as a root barrier and how to set it?
The root barrier for the yaw should consist of an impermeable fabric or material. Well suited are root barriers made of plastic or fleece. Stones or nets are not suitable. Fine scratches allow the rhizomes to penetrate easily. Alternatively, you can simply plant your yaw with a pot in the soil in the garden.
