The heyday of hawthorn
The hawthorn is a widespread shrub that thrives in our latitudes in sparse forests and hedges as well as in parks and gardens. From the pretty white flower umbels develop in autumn the bright red fruits.

For more than a hundred species of butterflies, bees and numerous species of birds, the hawthorn is the food source and habitat. If you want to collect the flowers, you should carefully pluck or cut the umbels, leave to dry well at home and store in tightly closed cans.
