How do I cut the weigela "Bristol Ruby"?
With its beautiful crimson flowers and the imposing size of up to three meters, the Asian Weigelie Bristol Ruby is probably the uncrowned queen of this genus and more abundant than the other varieties.
In the care, the different Weigelien do not differ, but in their space requirements. While the dwarf variety "All Summer Red" reaches only up to about 75 centimeters high, the Bristol Ruby can be four times as large. Be sure to give her a location where she can thrive.
Trim the Bristol Ruby correctly
If you have planted a Bristol Ruby in the hedge, then you should be a little wary with the usual autumn cut for hedges. Make sure you have plenty of shoots with new flower buds, otherwise the flower will fail in the next year. Not to cut at all, however, is a bad solution, because then their Weigelie is overgrown and does not bloom anymore.
