The healthy walnut - roasted even fuller in flavor

Walnuts should not only be on the plate at Christmas time. The nuts contain many minerals, fiber and important fatty acids for our body. Its fine aroma can be combined with many dishes. It gets more aromatic when the walnuts have been roasted before.

Roast walnuts in the oven

The first way to roast walnuts without much effort is the use of the oven.

Preheat the oven to about 190 degrees. Lay out a baking tray with baking paper. Crack the walnuts and place them on the plate. Of course you can also use peeled nuts. The nuts should not be on top of each other on the plate. Roast the nuts for about 5 to 10 minutes. Apply the nuts halfway through the time. If not all nuts are the same size, it may be that a part is already finished. Sort the finished nuts so they do not burn and continue to cook the rest. Remove the nuts from the oven and allow to cool in a suitable bowl.

Roast walnuts in a pan

Roasting in the pan takes less time than the oven variant.

Heat a large pan on the stove. Do not use oil, the oil in the nut itself will suffice for roasting. Now enter walnuts of equal size into the pan. The ground should be just covered. Use the nuts during the roasting process with a spatula. The nuts should not burn. Depending on the size of the pieces, roasting takes up to five minutes. Immediately remove the nuts from the pan when they reach the desired tan. In the hot pan, they would tan and possibly still burn. Allow the walnuts to cool off before serving so that no one can burn themselves.

Roast walnuts in the microwave

The fastest roasting variant is the microwave. Here you will get delicious, roasted nuts in about two minutes.

Cut the peeled walnuts into equal pieces. Put the nuts in a microwave-proof bowl, they should not be on top of each other. Let the nuts roast for one minute at full power. Check the roasting. If there is no turntable, the bowl must now be rotated. Roast on at intervals of 20 seconds and always check the result. This will prevent the nuts from burning. Remove the walnuts from the hot microwave dish and let them cool on a plate.
