The dead nettle is one of the first plants in our latitudes that bear plenty of flowers in spring.Some species bloom almost all year round, others have a shorter flowering time in spring and a second in fall.
When is the heyday of the deadnettle?
The heyday of the white and red nettle begins when it gets warmer outside. As early as March, the first flowers are showing. These species bloom until the fall.
Yellow nettles have their main flowering period from April to May / beginning of June. Often they bloom a second time in the fall.
When is the best time to collect the flowers?
The flowers are the most aromatic in spring. You can collect them all year round.
Tips & Tricks
Red nettles are particularly robust. In a shady, sheltered location, it sometimes even flowers in February or shows its purple flowers at Christmas time.
