The shrub rose Westerland is one of the most popular varieties among the roses. It not only convinces with its copper-orange flower color, but also with its fabulous scent and its resistance. How do you properly cut them?

Cut - not necessary

The shrub rose Westerland usually assumes a stature height of up to 150 cm. In width it reaches a size of about 80 cm. But there are exceptions. If she is not cut and stands in a favorable location, she can get up to 3 m long shoots!

Westerland has comparatively long shoots and is therefore also good as a climbing rose. The upright growing is well branched and healthy. Basically, a cut is not absolutely necessary in order to be able to enjoy this shrub rose every year.

Cut back in the spring

Like other roses, the shrub rose Westerland should preferably be cut back in the spring between February and March. This is especially true when it grows in a region that has a rather harsh climate.
