Is it easy to pull the hollyhock yourself?
Like all shrubs that sow themselves, the decorative hollyhock is easy to pull in your own garden. This plant does not bloom until its second year, so plan sowing well in advance.
Sow the hollyhock - pot or field
You can either prefer the hollyhock indoors or sow it outdoors. In the early flowering Hollyhocks may already bloom in the year of sowing, but the plants are not as resistant as the grown in the field. They are more likely to suffer from illness and are not so hardy.
As a dark germ, the seeds of hollyhock should always be covered with soil or substrate for germination. Water the seeds well and keep them evenly moist during the approximately two to three weeks of germination. In the field, you can easily sow hollyhocks from April to midsummer.
Transplant the hollyhock
If you have not sown the hollyhocks at their final location, then you must transplant them at some point. The ideal time depends on where and when you prefer the plants.
In the winter in the apartment sown hollyhocks must be transplanted in late spring, because then they are too big for the pots. Get used to the hollyhocks but slowly to the sun and the cold. At the end of May they may be planted outside. Holly-sowed hollyhocks or those that have totaled themselves are usually transplanted in the fall.
