Porcini mushrooms and their different species
The mushroom is in this country as in nature encountered mushroom and also known as commercially cultivated mushroom and culinary appreciated. However, a whole range of species belong to the genus when collecting, breeding and growing porcini mushrooms.
The species of the genus Boletus
Among the best known representatives of the mushrooms are the common porcini mushrooms, the bronze pipe and the oak-cep mushroom. Less well known but equally appreciated are the birch boletus and the red-brown pine and porcini mushroom, which each occur in the root area of the eponymous tree species.
Tips & Tricks
The name of the mushroom is probably derived from the fact that the species grouped under this name have a firmer fruiting body than other types of fungi.
