Celandine blooms from spring to autumn
The heyday of celandine
Because celandine is usually relatively inconspicuous in nature, it is sometimes not so easy to find celandine. It is therefore most likely to spot wild specimens during flowering when the delicate yellow flowers on the plants open.
A perennial summer bloomer
The celandine usually blooms between the end of April and the beginning of October, depending on the location. The plant is also attractive as a garden plant, because it repeatedly forms new flowers during flowering. Visually, the flowers are similar to those of St. John's wort, which also has a golden yellow blossom, but the celandine flowers consist of only four petals and many stamens.
Do not cut the flowers immediately

This is because the pod-shaped seed capsules contain black seeds with nutrient-rich appendages. They feed the ants in their structure before the remaining seeds are cleared out of the ant frame. So if you allow seedling to bloom after flowering, it will encourage the ants in your garden, as well as the self-sowing of celandine.
