Even when you buy the winter protection for your roses begins: If you choose hardy species and species and consider your roses with preventive measures, you have already half the cold season.
Well packaged in the hibernation
Put the potted roses together in a sheltered place (for example on a warming wall of the house) and cover the surface with brushwood. Protect the pots with dimpled foil or reed mats that remain open at the top; gaps can be filled with wood wool or leaves. On frost-free days you must not forget the casting to avoid dry damage. Sometimes protected roses will drift too soon, which you should try to avoid with the help of pine branches or antifreeze fleece.
Tips
You can also put your potted roses in the basement, in the garage or in the unheated conservatory for wintering - optimally at temperatures between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius. However, it must not be warmer than 10 degrees Celsius, as otherwise the plants will drive out.
