The heyday of the upholstery phlox
In contrast to many other ground cover, the Polsterphlox forms an almost unbelievable number of single flowers on the surface of its low plant pads. In order to create the most luxuriant flowering possible, the padded phlox should be set to a location that is as sunny and dry as possible.
A colorful spring messenger
The Polsterphlox flowers in most locations relatively persistently between May and June. However, spring is also the best time to plant new specimens of this plant in the garden. Due to the irritation caused by transplanting, these young plants may of course cause the flower to fail until the second year in the usual flower abundance. Under certain circumstances, the Polsterphlox also a post-flowering after the actual flowering time is possible. For this purpose, a pruning should be done by about one third of the plant height directly after the flowering period in spring.
