Propagation by division

You can not only sow Phlox but also multiply it by sharing it. The best times are spring and autumn. As a rule, there are no problems. Simply divide the perennial with the spade and re-plant the sections. To grow well and drive out, add a portion of well rotted compost to the planting hole and water the plants well.

Propagation by cuttings

If you would like to set cuttings, then cut at least 10 cm long shoot tips and remove the lower leaves. The shoots should have no flower buds. Put the cuttings in a pot with seed soil or substrate and water the young plants well. After some time, roots have formed and you can plant the plantlets.


Propagation by seeds

Of course, you can easily buy the seeds. The specialist trade offers seeds for numerous varieties of the phlox. You have the choice between crawling ground cover and high-growing perennials in a wide variety of colors. With purchased seeds you know exactly which growth form and flower color you can expect. This is different with self-collected seeds. They are not genuine.

Multi-annual Phlox like to be self-sufficient, if you do not cut off the flowered inflorescences. You do not have to do anything for it. Alternatively, you can also collect and scatter the seeds. So you can choose the location and also create new beds. One-year Phlox can be sowed directly into the field from mid / end of April or even put into pots earlier.
