The perfect time for hunting for chanterelles
As edible mushroom chanterelles are widespread throughout Central Europe. Unlike other mushrooms, they have a relatively long collection season, which can last from May to October or from June to November, depending on the weather.
Delicious chanterelles on summer and autumn menu
Since the stocks of the genuine chanterelle in their locations in sparse deciduous and coniferous forests get their greatest visible expression from the summer, chanterelles are for a long time often served together with game dishes. Especially after several days of rain, some mossy woodland seems to be littered with chanterelles.
Tips & Tricks
Since there is still no satisfactory crop for a commercial production of chanterelles, the harvest time is limited to the natural season in summer and autumn.
