Pouring palm trees - how thirsty are the attractive plants?
Like all plants, palm trees need regular watering to thrive well and vigorously. It can be fatal with these plants to distribute the water as it pleases. Guaranteed they are then a few days too dry and too wet after pouring. The delicate palms would quickly resent and stunt this treatment.
The water requirement
This depends on the natural habitat of the palms. While those specimens that thrive in tropical jungles require a relatively large amount of water, in drylands the willow palm orchards use less liquid. One thing, however, is common to all palms: The root ball should never completely dry out. Furthermore, they are extremely sensitive to waterlogging.
Watering during the growing season
This extends from about April into October. The water requirement is higher in this time than in the hibernation. Pour as follows:

Permanently wet feet threaten root rot. The root system then can no longer absorb water and dried up the palm, although it was sufficiently watered.

In the cold season, the water requirement depends on the location of the plant. But even palm trees, which are in the warm room, must then be poured less frequently. Again, go with the thumb sample well, because the root ball must not dry out even in winter.
Tips
You can dive not too big palm trees. Place the planter with the root ball in a bucket. It should contain enough water to completely submerge the pot. Do not inflate any more bubbles, take out palm tree. Before it is returned to its original place, drain for a few minutes.
