Like many other culinary herbs, oregano can be grown in a pot on the balcony, terrace or window sill. In a favorable location, the popular herbs develop here magnificently and promises rich harvest.
The oregano needs a lot of heat and light
For the oregano to grow well, it needs the right location. Ideal is a south-facing balcony or south-facing window. Give the plant a few weeks to get used to the new environment and protect the oregano from direct midday sun during this time. Since many plants are used in greenhouses, they are not used to the strong UV radiation of the sun. In spite of their warmth with sunburn on the leaves, they react to the strong sunlight during lunchtime.

Commercially available herbs often sit in too small pots. As a result, there is too little substrate available for the oregano and it can not develop vigorously.
