How much water does the oregano need?
Oregano is a very robust and easy-to-care plant, but it is somewhat sensitive to waterlogging. It is not as drought-tolerant as, for example, rosemary or thyme and requires occasional watering in very dry summers.
When does oregano need water in the herb bed?
Gather young perennials into the garden should you regularly provide them with water, especially during the first few weeks. If the plant has become accustomed to the conditions in the field, they only rarely have to water the oregano. It is sufficient to swamp the plant during long periods of heat occasionally until the soil has been thoroughly soaked with water.
Avoid waterlogging, as the heat-loving herb will react with rot.

Oregano in the pot you can cultivate in the summer on the balcony or the terrace. Since the herb evaporates a lot of moisture over the leaves, you must water the container plant daily during the hot summer weeks. Avoid waterlogging here as well and pour off the water reserve in the coaster after a short time.
