Among the fascinating attributes of orchids is that they prefer to thrive without substrate. This form of cultivation perfectly simulates their growth in the rainforest. If an orchid majestically perches on a branch or impresses itself impressively in the glass, it has no orchid soil available for the supply of water and nutrients. So that the noble plant suffers no shortage, it now depends on this care program:
Cultivate an orchid without substrate in the glass, fill in lime-free, lukewarm water every 2 to 3 days in summer.The plant heart and leaf axils should not get wet. After 20 to 30 minutes pour out the water again. Ideally, get the orchid out of the glass vase to dip it into a bucket. In this variant, the water can drain well before the queen of flowers takes place again in her glass vessel.
Tips
The orchid culture without substrate requires a location with a humidity on a tropical level. Where no orchid soil is available as a water buffer, the aerial roots are permanently threatened by dryness.
