Lavender - perfect for the easy-care pebble bed
Lavender needs a dry and sandy, if possible even stony soil. In this respect, a plantation in the pebble bed - sometimes referred to as rock garden - ideal.
A pebble bed does not do much work
In addition to creating optimal conditions for the flourishing of your lavender plants, a pebble bed has another, invaluable advantage: once it's laid out, you have little work to do with it. Weeds have no chance to overgrow in such a rock garden. This also benefits the lavender, because this can be crushed in normal beds quickly from unwanted plants, unless you're constantly weeding. In very hot and dry summers, however, you must make sure that the plants get enough water, d. H. if necessary, watering should be carried out.
Create a pebble bed
But before you can enjoy your less labor-intensive, but always green pebble bed, a little more work awaits you: after all, the bed must first be laid out. A rock garden is best adapted to the needs of lavender on sandy or gravelly soil. However, other floors are suitable for such a design. To do this, first raise a thick layer of the floor, at least 20 centimeters, from the surface of the bed. The resulting hole filled with sand or gravel, which was possibly mixed with some garden soil. Loosen the substrate well with a pick and rake it smooth. Now, if you have planned it, you can cover a path with colored decorative gravel, only then the gravel for the beds is spread. Then you can plant the beds.

Tips & Tricks
It can also look very pretty to combine different types of lavender in different colors. The lavender reach different stature heights and bloom in various blue and violet tones as well as in white and pink. These are particularly good strong yellow-flowering perennials such as the girl's eye or the yarrow.
