Is garlic useful for dogs?
As the University of Zurich and other research institutes have found out, garlic has a positive effect on dogs. As a dietary supplement, the medicinal herb soothes annoying old age problems and promotes overall vitality.
Self-grown garlic is therefore considered as a useful dietary supplement. If you want to do something good for your four-legged friend, preferably use one of the milder garlic varieties as a food supplement.
Toxic in high concentration
In terms of dosage, fresh or dried garlic is toxic from a daily intake of 4 grams per kilogram of body weight. Not related to one day but cumulative to 7 days.
A 25-kilo dog would therefore have to eat a total of 50 cloves of garlic in one week, to suffer damage. These utopian values need no further explanation.
