Cherry tree in autumn
A cherry tree may not look as spectacular in the fall as it does in spring when it's in full bloom. Nevertheless, its foliage, slowly turning into rich yellows or reddish browns, provides a delightful sight.
The smooth, almond-shaped, serrated leaves of a cherry tree begin at the end of September / beginning of October to turn yellow, later brownish or reddish. If the foliage is completely immersed in autumnal colors, the leaves begin to fall off. Depending on the weather conditions, the cherry will be completely bald within a few days and the whole foliage will be at your feet. While the cherry tree goes to hibernation, the gardener still has some work to do.

In autumn, important work is carried out, in particular cutting and planting work, whereby the sweet cherries should be cut already in the summer after the harvest, at the latest in August.

Tips & Tricks
If the leaves of the cherry tree turn yellow in the summer, it may indicate a lack of minerals in the soil. In contrast, a targeted fertilizer application of a ferrous or magnesium-containing fertilizer helps.
