Kakis have season all year round
The ripe kaki tastes sweet and juicy with pear, honeydew melon and apricot and comes from Asia, Southern Europe or South America in our supermarkets. The largest selection of vitamin-rich fruits can be found in the winter months.
The kakis, the Sharon fruits and the persimmon are available in the German fruit trade almost all year round thanks to their good storability. In the months of October to March, the offer is the richest. In the late autumn and winter months, the sweet fruits from southern Europe are delivered to us from South America in spring and early summer:
Tips & Tricks
The kaki fruit has been cultivated in China and Japan for over 2019 years. Meanwhile, there are about 500 varieties of colorful fruit worldwide. Most fruits grow in Asia.
