The leaves of the coffee plant are non-toxic
Is the coffee plant poisonous?
In principle, the easy-care coffee plant is non-toxic. Their seeds, however, can be dangerous in larger quantities, especially for small pets such as budgerigars, as they contain the alkaloid caffeine. Therefore, a little caution is required.
Even small children should not put the seeds in their mouths. If you do not want to remove new plants from the seeds, you can simply remove them after flowering. Otherwise, make sure that neither your children nor your pets can eat these seeds.
