Hemp palms are hardy, although they do not necessarily survive as low minus temperatures as they often prevail in this country. If you want to hibernate a hemp palm outside in the tub, you should protect it from frost and even more from moisture.

In addition to the cold, the hemp palm in the tub makes especially the winter wetness through meltwater or rain to create.
Therefore place the bucket in a place where it is protected and does not get too much moisture.

Above all, protect the heart of the palm tree. If only the leaves freeze, the hemp palm recovers quite quickly. Frost damage to the palm heart, however, cause the hemp palm to arrive.
Tips
If you want to hibernate a hemp palm in the house, place the plant in the brightest possible location. Water regularly when the surface of the earth is dry. During the winter season, fertilize very little or not at all.
