Pour hemp palm with fingertip feeling
When casting a hemp palm, you have to prove some instinct. The fan palm may not completely dry out, nor does it tolerate waterlogging. You do not even get calcareous water. So pour hemp palms properly.
Do not pour hemp palm too much or too little
The root ball of a hemp palm should never completely dry out. However, if you water too much, waterlogging will develop that damages the roots.
Always pour only when the surface of the substrate has dried out to a depth of several centimeters. Do the finger test!
Pour excess water from the coaster immediately. Maintain the hemp palm in the bucket, leave coasters or planters away so that rainwater can run off and can not accumulate.
Use low-limp water
If possible, pour hemp palms with rainwater or soft tap water. Too much lime in the irrigation water does not get the hemp palm.
Tips
A hemp palm does not break growth in winter. It only grows slower because it lacks direct sunlight during the dark season. It must therefore be watered regularly during the winter.
