Yellow oleander seeds are deadly poisonous
Although the container plant with the pretty, mostly funnel-like yellow flowers in this country is called "yellow oleander", but botanically speaking with the real oleander (Nerium oleander), only the plant family and the strong toxicity common. While the yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana), also known as the bell tree, originates from Peru and thrives mainly in tropical climes, the real oleander has its home in the countries around the Mediterranean.

All parts of the tree are very poisonous. They contain the cardioactive glycosides Thevetin and Neriifolin, which slow down the heartbeat and eventually stop it altogether. Even a single seed capsule is potentially deadly to a human! But also leaves, shoots and the example emerging when cutting the bush latex juice are highly toxic. Anyone who wants to cultivate this exotic plant with its pretty flowers should be aware of this - especially in households with children, it is not recommended to take an attitude of Thevetia peruviana.
Remove yellow oleander from seed
Those who are not deterred by the strong toxicity of the plant and would like to enjoy the very pretty flowers can use the yellow oleander itself from seeds. These are easily available on the Internet, but also in some well-stocked garden stores. Be very careful when handling the highly toxic seeds and only handle them with gloves to avoid accidental poisoning!
