The best way to plant your spring basket depends on the material of your basket: wood or willow must be protected from moisture, plastic or metal baskets can be protected without protection. Large-meshed metal baskets, in particular, look particularly beautiful when laid out with moss, creating a natural green basket, so to speak. However, you should have this basket standing outside, where the irrigation water can drain or put a large plate.

Step by step plant the spring basket
1. Lay out the basket
If you want to use a wicker or wood basket, you should first seal it with a waterproof foil, e.g. lay out a sturdy plastic bag or garbage bag. Let the plastic hang a little over the edge; they can hide you later.
2. Drainage
If you like to water your plants too much, you should prick a few holes in the plastic foil on the bottom so that excess irrigation water can drain off. Do not forget to put your spring basket on a plate or a coaster! Then, as the lowest layer, add some gravel or broken clay to the plant basket.
3. Planting
Now put some soil in the planting basket and then place your plants or tubers as desired. You need no space to note, plant quietly. But keep in mind that larger plants should grow in the middle and smaller ones on the edge.
4. Finish the spring basket
Fill the open spaces with soil and cover any loose spots and visible foil parts with moss pieces. Decorate your spring basket as you like with clay figures or similar.
