How to transplant the forsythia
Forsythia tolerate a move in the garden quite well. Whether or not transplanting a forsythia is worthwhile is another matter. Because the shrubs grow easily, it is much easier to grow new forsythia from cuttings or aspersions.

Cut back the forsythia before moving
Before you transplant the forsythia, you have to cut it back. The larger and older the shrub is, the stronger the pruning may be.
