Fire basket right - That's how it's done
Like fire bowls, fire baskets are mobile fireplaces that do not need to be installed firmly in the garden. That's why you usually do not need regulatory approval to set it up - unlike building a brick hearth. Laying and lighting the wood in the fire basket is not particularly complicated, as long as you know how to do it right.
Which fuel is suitable for the fire basket?
First of all: In the fire basket heard only well-dried wood in logs, pellets or other forms. On the other hand, waste from the garden, bulky waste, etc. has nothing to look for - with only a few exceptions, the burning of waste is prohibited by the authorities. The burning of treated wood - such as varnished or treated with tar woods is not allowed due to the resulting toxic gases. Instead, small chopped softwood species such as fir, pine and spruce are used to ignite the fire in the basket, while hardwoods such as oak and beech keep the fire burning for a long time.
The correct setting up of the fire basket
Fire baskets may only be installed on fireproof surfaces - preferably on paved or stone floors. On the terrace, the installation is limited, because many terraces are made of wood and therefore potentially flammable. However, if your patio has a stone or tiled floor, you can put the fire basket on it. Keep in mind, however, that these fireplaces can cause soot stains that can only be removed by thorough scrubbing. Also, setting up directly on the lawn is not recommended: The heat burns away the fresh green quickly and literally leaves only scorched earth. In addition to a fortified, refractory base, you can also place the fire basket on hard-packed, bare earth.

Tips
