The various species of the rock pear are now experiencing a renaissance in many private gardens and parks since they have a very decorative look with pretty flowers and a magnificent autumn coloration. The shrubby or tree-like awake rock pear but also during growth a quite pleasant speed to the day.
Strong growth and yet to keep in check
Depending on the variety and location, a mountain pear grows in height by about 20 to 60 cm per year. Over the years, rock pears can be shaped into hedges or obelisks. At the same time, however, the care of the rock pear does not make too much work, since the plants can be kept in check with a maximum of one cut per year.

The fruits of the rock pear are edible. A fruitful hedge of vigorously awake pears can not only serve as a habitat for animals, but also provide raw material for healthy juices and jams.
