Transplant the fig tree
Figs can also be planted outdoors in suitable locations in our regions. By garden replanning or a poor flourishing of the fig it is sometimes necessary to implement a fig already planted in the garden. The right soil preparation is very important, so that the plant grows healthy.
Put a bucket fig in the field
If you want to put a fig into the garden, it should be at least two years old and have three to four strong shoots. As with many woody plants, the best planting time is the early spring. Only put the thermophilous fig in the field when no frost is expected.
Preparation of the planting hole
First, lift a sufficiently large planting hole. This should be two to three times as wide and deep as the root ball of the fig. In rootless shrubs, the outstretched roots of the fig should not touch the edge.
Prevent waterlogging
For good drainage ensures a few centimeters thick drainage layer. Place the plant bales in the planting hole so that the fig sits five to ten centimeters lower than it was in the container. The substrate you use to fill up the planting hole should be permeable and slightly acidic. Well suited are topsoil or compost soil, which loosen up with sand or small-grained gravel.

Fill in the planting hole gradually and shake the little fig again and again gently, so that all spaces between the roots are filled with substrate. Gently tether the soil so that the plant finds good support. Afterwards, thoroughly wash in the wood.
Implement free-range figs
The right time for this project is the early spring, when the fig has not driven out any new leaves and no ground frosts are expected.

Tips & Tricks
Place a pouring edge a few centimeters deep around the planting hole and fill it several times with water. The liquid seeps away and gets directly to the roots, so that they are washed in well.
