Only when the capsules and thus the seeds are ripe, you can cut them off.

The seeds are sown as far as possible in autumn, because it takes a long time to germinate. You can put it on the spot or sow in the pot. As a cold germ the seeds need a frost period. Leave the seed pot outside for winter.
So you sow the seed
As nursery soil, nutritious garden soil is sufficient. When sowing in a pot, you can also use seedling soil. Make sure that the soil is nice and loose, so that the moisture can not accumulate.
Do not sprinkle the fine seed too tightly and cover it with a very thin layer of soil. Pour the sowing carefully.
Separate and plant in spring
If the small plants are large enough to be singulated, poke them at a distance of five centimeters.
Once they have reached a height of about eight centimeters, plant them in the designated place in the rock garden, a balcony box or a bucket.
Pay attention to enough planting distance. In Blue Gentian this should be about as large as the adult perennial.
