The dragon tree in this country in the field is not hardy and blooms in nursing as a houseplant only rarely. But you can take advantage of the fact that cuttings from the dragon tree are relatively easy to root.

In contrast to some garden plants, a dragon tree with its usually "single-stemmed" growth does not offer much attack surface for a freshly pruned pruning shears and a pruning as the basis for a larger number of cuttings. After all, the remaining trunk of a cut-off dragon tree looks really bleak at first. However, in a healthy dragon tree, new shoots are usually formed just below the interface within a few weeks. Use as clean a pair of pruning shears or scissors as possible with sharp and smooth blades. First separate the "trunk" of the dragon tree in a horizontal direction and close the plant wound with some tree wax or coal dust if necessary. The lower end of the at least 15 cm long cuttings should allow to dry for about a day before you finally put this in the ground or put in a water glass. The rooting should in most cases after a few weeks be so far advanced that the cuttings can be fully supplied with water and nutrients again. If possible, do not expose your dragon tree cuttings to strong temperature fluctuations or excessive sunlight.
Young plants slowly get used to certain local conditions
Dragon trees can react very strongly to unpase light conditions and lose leaves. Therefore, supposedly powerful, rooted cuttings should not be moved from their shady rooting site without gentle transition to a location with hours of direct sunlight.
Tips
While in some plants so-called rooting hormones and other rooting enhancers are recommended, this is not necessary for the formation of rooted cuttings of the dragon tree.
