The wisteria often blooms twice a year
When does the blue rain bloom?
Finally there is a blue rain (bot. Wisteria) in your garden and should now provide a pleasant holiday feeling and Mediterranean flair on the terrace. Before that, however, your patience is required and good care along with regular pruning.
Already in April, the first flowers of the Blauregens appear and delight the eye of the beholder. The lush color splendor with seductive scent lasts until June. Depending on the climate and weather, the blue-flowering will bloom a second time in late summer, albeit not as lush and glorious as in spring.
Are there blue rain with other flower colors?
As the name suggests, the most common flower color is a bright blue. But there are other varieties that bloom violet, pink or even white. For a lush flowering, however, they need a sunny location.
Can I support the flowering of my blue gene?
An untreated wisteria does not flower well because it puts its power into growth. That's why regular pruning is very important. It is best to cut the wisteria once in summer and in winter. Also make sure that the plant is well supplied with water and nutrients before and during flowering.
