When does the flowering shoot form a Cymbidium?
The care of Cymbidium is not easy. In order for a flowering shoot to develop, you must meet the orchid's site requirements. The Cymbidium does not bloom in a too warm location with constant temperatures.
The flowering shoot develops only at cool temperatures
In order for the Cymbidium to develop a flowering shoot, you must ensure changing temperatures from late summer.
During the day, the orchid should be kept at 20 degrees, at night, the temperatures must drop to 12 degrees. If these temperature differences are not met, the Cymbidium will not bloom. Once the flowering shoots have developed, the different temperatures are no longer necessary.
For the warm living room, the Cymbidium is therefore not necessarily suitable. It is better kept in an unheated greenhouse or winter garden from August.
Tips
Cymbidium develops with proper care beautiful flowers that bloom in the winter. The flowering period extends to a good location over several weeks.
