In addition to the white flowering Calla plants varieties are now available in many vibrant colors in the trade. The color spectrum ranges from bright yellow to apricot and pink to dark violet. There are even varieties such as the Calla "Cantor" whose bracts are almost black.
Still quite new is a bicolor variety with the beautiful name "Vermeer". Their bracts are white on the outside and show a deep purple color inside.
The white varieties have a very decorative effect when the bulb protrudes from the hull leaves in a strong yellow.
Colored calla likes it a bit warmer
The care claims of colored Calla varieties do not differ fundamentally from those of the white varieties. Just like these, colorful species need a change of wetness and dryness.
However, the colored houseplants like it a bit warmer. While the white varieties feel most comfortable at temperatures between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius, it may be slightly warmer for colorful species with 18 to 22 degrees.
