The Calathea likes a dark location
Unlike most indoor plants, the Calathea or Korbmarante copes well with a dark location. The non-toxic ornamental plant comes from the Brazilian rainforest and therefore prefers a place in the semi-shade. She does not like direct sunlight.
A good location for the calathea
It should never be too sunny at the location of a basket edge. South windows are not suitable for Calathea. It tolerates only direct sunlight in the morning and in the evening.
The temperatures in the place must not fall below 18 degrees, lower values can withstand the Korbmarante only for a short period.
The humidity must be very high if the Calathea is to thrive. It should never fall below 80 percent. Therefore, spray the leaves of the ornamental plant regularly with water and set up water bowls nearby.
Tips
In the rainforest, the Calathea is well protected from drafts. Therefore, place it in a place where it is protected from excessive draft.
