Increase blackberry over cuttings
In principle, blackberries can also be grown from the seeds of the fruits if they are stratified and seeded with great patience. Due to the long duration of this propagation method but has almost no meaning in blackberries.

Cut cuttings in the correct length
In late summer you can cut a harvested blackberry vine into pieces with a sharp planter for the propagation of cuttings. This is especially useful as blackberries are always cut back near the ground on two-year tendrils and harvested tendrils. The cuttings should be cut so that they each have three to four leaf nodes. Apart from the upper pair of leaves, all others are stripped off, then you should put the cuttings with the lower end about two leaf buds far to rooting in loose soil substrate.
Promote rooting with moisture and heat
First you can put several cuttings in a pot and put it in a warm place in the greenhouse or on the balcony. If ideal conditions prevail, blackberry cuttings can form roots within about four weeks. In the spring you can transplant the wintered cuttings into a single pot. With proper care, the offshoots will then become strong enough by the fall to be planted out to their final outdoor location.

Especially for a trellis or a hedge of blackberry plants a larger number of plants is needed. You can generate these cost-effectively by propagating through cuttings themselves to plant the plants in the following year to their destination.
