To increase the leadwort: sowing and cuttings
Being able to call a leadwort a beautiful thing makes you proud. What would it be like to multiply it, for example, to give away a plant or to decorate other living areas with it?
Use cuttings to multiply
The highest success rate promises the cuttings propagation. The cuttings are cut between May and June. Choose shoots that are not too soft and fleshy. But they should not be too heavily wooded. Semi-ripe shoots are ideal.
Between 10 and 15 cm long should be the chosen shoots. Better than cutting the shoots is the demolition of these. The lower leaves are removed as well as any existing flowers. Only 2 to 4 upper leaves should be preserved.
Put cuttings in potting soil
If the cuttings are prepared for propagation, go to the potting soil:
Plant cuttings in a clean place
After successful rooting, the cuttings should remain in the pot or merely - if necessary - repotted. They will not come outside until next spring, as they would not survive the frosty autumn and winter. Overwinter in a bright but frost-free place!
Sow seeds, germinate and nurture young plants
Sowing the leadwort is less recommended, as many seeds do not seem to germinate. Do you still want to try it? In the spring, the optimal time for sowing has come.

Tips
Even with so good care of the plant: The seeds from our own breeding usually germinate much worse than purchased seeds - sometimes even not at all.
