What are the costs of underground irrigation?

An underground irrigation system offers some tangible benefits: Not only does it eliminate the constant need to haul watering cans and ensure a reliable supply of the garden while on vacation, you also do not run the risk of tripping over any hoses. They lie invisibly in the ground and only appear when needed: when the garden is being watered. There are different shapes from different manufacturers, which are particularly suitable for various areas in the garden. For example, a lawn sprinkler is not a suitable irrigation system for a greenhouse or a raised bed, and even a vegetable bed benefits more from drip irrigation. Incidentally, you do not have to dig out the system in winter, as most species are automatically emptied and can not freeze. But the disadvantages of an underground irrigation system should not be concealed: they are expensive and make a lot of work. From a purely mathematical point of view, the effort is not worth it, but it can greatly enhance your garden.
Make or build yourself?
Whether you build or have an underground irrigation system built depends primarily on your crafting skills and the energetic help of your friends and family. In fact, heavy equipment such as dredging trenches is also used, and the various technical equipment must be correctly installed. Of course, it is much cheaper to lay the system yourself. However, the use has a catch: you have no warranty claims. If something goes wrong and your garden is flooded in case of hardship, you have to answer for this mistake yourself. For this reason alone, it can be worthwhile to hire a specialist company to do so: Even the materials for self-installation amount to at least 1000, - EUR if you want to install a good system. In addition, there are the working hours and travel costs for the specialist who, however, brings along the necessary tools himself.
Tips
